1. Find the best roulette game you can. European versions have better odds to play on than American, and if you can find one with the “en prison” rule that’s even better. The house edge for the American game is 5.26% and only 2.7% for the European version.
2. Stick to the outside bets that offer better odds. Most of your bets should be on these outside wagers. The long shot 35-1 bets should only constitute a small percentage of your bets. Stay away from bets like 0, 00, 1, 2, 3 bet, as the house has a 7.89% edge. The house holds a 5.26% edge on the rest of them.
3. Play within the limits that you can afford. Decide how many sessions you plan to play every week and divide your playing bankroll over those sessions. That keeps you in the game and in control of how much you’re spending.

The roulette tables in Macau are a little different than the average table you’ll find in Vegas. In Vegas most of the tables have two green spots (a zero and a double zero spot) that improve the house advantage to over 5%. The worst bets on these tables are the five number bets, which give the house almost an 8% advantage over the players.
The Asian roulette tables are the same as the European roulette tables. They only have one green spot and the house only carries a 2.7% edge. These tables are much better for the player. Most tables in Macau have a $5 minimum on number bets and a $20 minimum on the outside bets.
Finding games like these in Vegas requires that you play at high stakes in a hidden high rollers room. The general public is forced to play the game with the bigger house edge.

1. The Bellagio offers American and European roulette with the “en prison” rule. There are lots of tables to play and a variety of stakes to choose from.
2. At the MGM Grand, roulette is one of the most popular games in the casino. They also offer European roulette and have lots of tables and different stakes.
3. The Mirage is another Vegas casino that has European “en prison” roulette available to its patrons. They have a higher betting minimum to gain back the edge lost to the European game.
4. Casino Monte Carlo is the birthplace of the game and the action is still some of the best in the world. Tons of tables and a high-class feel set this roulette scene apart from all others.
5. The Wynn Hotel and Casino has lots of tables that provide high-stakes European roulette with the “en prison” rule.

The best places in Vegas to play roulette are the ones that offer the European version of the game with the “en prison” rule. Not many offer this set of rules because it lowers the house edge from 5.26% (on American Roulette tables) to just 1.35%. Casinos with these tables are the Bellagio, the MGM Grand, the Mirage, the Rio Suites and the Wynn. Most of these casinos have higher betting minimums to make up for the lower house edge.
The next best are casinos that offer the European game without the “en Prison”. These tables only have one 0 space on the table, instead of two that most Vegas casinos have. The casinos with this set of roulette rules are Caesars Palace, the Las Vegas Hilton, the Monte Carlo, Nevada Palace, Paris, the Stratosphere, and the Venetian. The house edge on these games is 2.7%, almost half of American Roulette.

Atlantic City roulette is a bit different than regular American roulette. The difference is in the payout for the green spaces if you’ve made any even-money bets. Atlantic City roulette is played on an American roulette table, which has both a 0 and a 00 space on the betting surface.
European roulette has only the 0 space, and thus less of a house advantage over the players. The European edition has a rule for even-money bets (red, black, odd, even, 1-18, 19-36) called “en prison”. When the ball lands on zero, either half your money is returned or the entire amount is imprisoned until the next spin. If your bets win on the next spin the entire amount is returned to you.
Atlantic City roulette has a variation of this rule where half of your even-money bets is returned when the ball lands on either 0 or 00.

The best sites to play roulette vary according to how big the casino’s bonus structure is at the time. That often changes, and it’s certainly worth your time and effort to find the best options on your deposit. Here’s a short list of the best casinos at which to play roulette on a regular basis that are trusted and pay out at the best rates. (They are not necessarily offering the best bonuses right now.)
Golden Palace Roulette Casino has a great tutorial for novice players and has been in the business a long time. They currently offer a 300% bonus to get started.
You can play American or European roulette at Intercasino. Their welcome bonus is a cool $100. You can even play with other live players.
Jackpot City Casino has both American and European, and also French Roulette and Roulette Royal. They’re also giving a $400 bonus for new sign-ups.

Finding free casino games online is getting easier all the time. Roulette games haven’t been as easy to find until lately.
At http://www.funny-games.biz/roulette.html there’s a simple game you can play right away without any download. It’s a European version of the game with only one 0 space. There’s no instruction or strategy links with this game, just endless free play.
There’s a free flash game at http://www.roulette-king.com/ that has cool graphics and it gives you $999 to start playing with. This version is the American one, with two 00 spots. There is voice feature which calls out the number hit and whether you won or not.
There is another American game at http://www.roulette4fun.com/ which provides links with useful information on how to play the game properly. There’s also a music option if the sound of the wheel gets on your nerves and you need a break from it.

There are lots of players out there who think they have a system to beat roulette. The truth is that there isn’t a system to beat the game, but there are better bets than others. Playing the outside bets provides much better odds than the number bets. Betting on a color gives you near-even odds, especially if the ‘en prison’ bet is in play.
Try to find European Roulette games if possible. American Roulette has two green spaces on the wheel, 0 & 00. The European version only has the 0 space and the house edge is diminished to 2.6%.
The other secret I would offer for roulette would be to walk away at the right time. If you can build an amount that is three times the amount you bought in for, leaving the game would be a wise decision. Prolonged playing will eventually reduce what you have won, and more.
I’ll leave you with a video where a fancy lad and his fancy accent describe and show (with the aid of a keyboard mouse) in detail why you should never play American Roulette.
